JOVIAN JUBERT S. DUMLAO is a Partner in the Firm. Jovian has over fifteen (15) years of continuing practice particularly in the areas of dispute and conflict resolution, litigation, and employment processes. He is well-versed with all facets of trial and court practice, having represented several clients both as prosecutor and defense counsel, in various venues all over the Philippines. Jovian likewise has a strong experience in multi-jurisdiction arbitration involving cross-border disputes. He has honed his skills and gained experience from a decade of being with the Platon Martinez Law Offices, and further sharpened the same when he found the Dumlao and Castillo Law Offices, through which he has served as counsel for multinationals, domestic conglomerates, and prominent individuals. 

Jovian has specific and extensive experience in dealing with Southeast and East Asian clients with respect to their business issues, disputes, and regulatory concerns. He has also previously represented multinational clients in complex commercial and public interest disputes, with a wide range of experience from highly technical and complex multiparty suits, labor disputes both for the employer and the employee, criminal cases involving private parties and government entities, and various other claims. He has actively participated on every facet of trial, from case filing or response to judgment execution. He also has substantial exposure with appellate practice both in the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.

Jovian has a demonstrated history of working in the areas of admiralty, arbitration, aviation, family law and children’s rights, entertainment, and mass media law. He has a wide array of experience in civil, commercial, criminal, and tax litigation. 

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences, a Master’s degree focused in Public Administration from the National College of Public Administration and Governance, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the College of Law, all from the University of the Philippines. He is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Makati Chapter.
