IAN JONATHAN R. VILLAFUERTE is an Associate of the Firm. Ian obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 2021. While he was in law school, he worked as a research assistant at the University of the Philippines Law Center – Institute of Human Rights, where he was exposed to human rights law and public international law. Among other matters, he was involved in the drafting of a book and a legislative bill. He was also an intern at the law office of Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia (CMT). Afterwards, he took an internship at the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) under its Mergers and Acquisitions Office (MAO).

Ian graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Management, as well as a minor degree in Project Management. As an undergraduate student, he took an internship at UnionBank of the Philippines (UBP). Ian was also an active member of a scholars’ organization in his College.
